Bachata is a slow, sensual Latin dance that originated in the Dominican Republic, and the music epitomizes heated emotions such as passion, desire and longing. Often danced pegadito (with diaphragm contact), bachata is easier to learn than salsa and a great way for a beginner to get started with the Latin social dances.
Popular bachata artists include Antony Santos, Zacharias Ferreira, Hector Acosta (El Torito), Raulin Rodriguez, Aventura, Monchy y Alexandra, and 4Ever.
